(1) The mine operator
of a mine must take all reasonable steps to ensure that the regulator is
notified in accordance with this regulation as soon as possible after becoming
aware of a reportable incident arising out of the carrying out of mining
operations at the mine.
Penalty for this subregulation:
(a) for
an individual, a fine of $4 200;
(b) for
a body corporate, a fine of $21 000.
(2) The notification
must —
(a) be
in writing; and
(b) be
in the approved form; and
(c) if
the incident results in an illness or injury — contain the
information specified in Schedule 24.
