Part 5     Policy direction for Director-General

14     Moratorium in relation to issue of new licence

    (1)     This regulation applies if the Director-General is considering an application for a new take-away liquor licence.

    (2)     The Director-General must take into account the government moratorium policy that no new take-away liquor licences be issued for 2 years from the commencement of this regulation.

Note for subregulation (2)

This government moratorium policy is to give effect to the recommendation (No. 2.5.20) of the Alcohol Policies and Legislation Review Final Report.

    (3)     In this regulation:

"take-away liquor licence" means a licence that permits the sale and consumption of liquor away from the licensed premises.
