NATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME: HOBART, SYDNEY
The AustLII National Training Programme in Internet Legal Research, presented in conjunction with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) at UNSW, is being held in Hobart on Friday, 17 June 2005 and in Sydney on Monday, 27 June 2005.
This full day course provides a systematic introduction to Australian and international legal materials on the Internet, with an emphasis on those materials available for free access. The huge variety of free-access digital resources that have become available in recent years make them indispensable both to those who depend on free access, and to those who also have access to the commercial legal publishers' services. AUSTLII WINS NO 1 WEBSITE AWARD
AustLII has won the Hitwise No 1 Website Award for the March 2005 quarter. For the period from January to March 2005, Hitwise ranked AustLII No 1, based on the number of unique Australian visitors, against other Australian websites in the Business and Finance - Legal category. AustLII also received a Hitwise Top 10 Website Award for the same quarter for ranking No 2 in the Education - Reference category.

NEW TOOL: UPDATE STATUS FOR CASE LAW
We have provided a new tool - Update Status for Case Law - which enables users to see at a glance the currency of all of AustLII's case law databases for each Australian jurisdiction. The tool also provides details of the last update date, the most recent decision, the approximate frequency of updates and, where they exist, links to the Court or Tribunal's own website.
