(1) A licensed plumber who performs plumbing work is to ensure that (a) a relevant permit, authorisation or notification is issued in respect of the work before it is commenced; and(b) the work is performed in accordance with the relevant permit or authorisation and this Act; and(c) the quality of the materials used in the work is in accordance with the relevant permit or authorisation and this Act; and(d) the work is performed on land owned by the owner; and(e) the work is performed in a manner that does not cause (i) a public health risk; or(ii) a danger to the public; or(iii) an environmental nuisance within the meaning of the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994 ; or(iv) a nuisance to an adjoining owner; or(v) damage to infrastructure; and(f) any directions in respect of the plumbing work under this Act are complied with; and(g) sufficient information is supplied to the owner for the owner to maintain the plumbing work, and plumbing installations, in accordance with this Act.(2) A person performing plumbing work under this Act must have the relevant licence, if required, to perform that work.
