(1) If the building surveyor grants an application for an occupancy permit, the building surveyor is to issue an occupancy permit to the applicant.(2) An occupancy permit is to (a) be in an approved form; and(b) state the use, or uses, to which the building may be put; and(c) state the conditions of the permit.(3) If the occupancy permit for a building is required as a result of work performed on the building, the building surveyor is to provide a copy of the occupancy permit to the responsible person for the work.(4) An owner of a building must display in a prominent place in the building, as prescribed, the occupancy permit issued in respect of the building.Penalty: In the case of (a) a natural person, a fine not exceeding 10 penalty units; or(b) a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 50 penalty units.
