(1) A permit authority may grant an application for a plumbing permit under section 165 if the permit authority is satisfied that the proposed permit plumbing work will comply with this Act.(2) A permit authority may grant an application for a plumbing permit under subsection (1) subject to any condition imposed in accordance with section 171 .(3) If a permit authority grants an application for a plumbing permit under subsection (1), the permit authority is to issue a plumbing permit to each of the following persons:(a) the applicant for the permit;(b) the owner of the premises where the permit plumbing work is to be performed;(c) each licensed plumber named on the permit, or his or her business entity;(d) each person prescribed for the purposes of this section.(4) If an application for a plumbing permit under section 165 is an application for a staged permit, the permit authority may specify, at the time of granting the application for the permit (a) that the permit is in effect for (i) such period, of more than 2 years, as may be specified in the permit; or(ii) such period as may be specified in the permit for each stage of the permit; and(b) that a certificate of completion (permit plumbing work) is only required in respect of the completion of the last stage of the permit plumbing work.(5) The granting of an application for a staged permit under subsection (1) does not entitle the applicant to be granted any other plumbing permit in respect of any other stage of the permit plumbing work.
