(1) A building surveyor is to refuse an application for a certificate of likely compliance (permit building work) if the permit building work specified in the application is not likely to comply with this Act.(2) If a building surveyor refuses an application under this Subdivision, the building surveyor is to notify the applicant and the relevant permit authority, in writing, of (a) the refusal to grant the application for a certificate of likely compliance (permit building work); and(b) the reasons for the refusal; and(c) the right of appeal under this Act in respect of the refusal.
