 SUNCORP INSURANCE AND FINANCE
      AMENDMENT BILL 1992

                    EXPLANATORY NOTES

  Clause 1 Short Title.
  Clause 2 provides that the Suncorp Insurance and Finance Act 1985 is
amended.
  Clause 3 amends section 15 of the Act, to limit the operation of the
section to appeals that arise from grievances against disciplinary action in
cases other than dismissal or suspension from duty.
  Clause 4 omits section 16(3) of the Act, to remove any reference in the
Act to appeals against dismissal or suspension from duty and thereby place
such appeals in the jurisdiction of the Industrial Relations Commission.
