Amendment 1 ensures that the purposive approach may be applied to a provision of

the Act.

Amendment 2 reflects the intent of s 29(3) of the Acts Interpretation Act 1931 (Tas).

It makes specific provision for the backwards calculation of time and applies the

provisions to a date as well as a period of time.

Amendment 3 is consequential on amendment 2.
