RENEWABLE ENERGY (ELECTRICITY) (CHARGE) AMENDMENT BILL 2000
The clause provides that the Act may be cited as the Renewable Energy (Electricity) (Charge) Amendment Act 2000.
The clause provides that this Act commences immediately after the commencement of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) (Charge) Act 2000, which it amends.
This clause provides that any Act specified in a Schedule to the Act is amended or repealed as set out in the relevant Schedule. It also provides that Schedules may contain other provisions that have effect according to their terms.
This item alters section 6 of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) (Charge) Act 2000 by omitting the text that specifies the years for which the rate of charge applies ie. "in relation to the year commencing on 1 January 2001 and all later years". This amendment is consequential upon amendments to the proposed Renewable Energy (Electricity) Bill 2000 which change the commencement date of the obligations and benefits provided proposed under the Bill from 1 January 2001 to 1 April 2001.
