 AMENDMENTS TO THE INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF LIVE ANIMAL EXPORTS
                          BILL 2019

GENERAL OUTLINE
The amendments to the Inspector-General of Live Animal Exports Bill 2019 (the Bill) will
include specific references to animal welfare in the work of the Inspector-General of Live
Animal Exports (Inspector-General).


NOTES ON AMENDMENTS
Amendment 1 - Inserts a new Subclause to Clause 3 that provides that the objects of the act
include an explicit reference to animal welfare.
Amendment 2 - Inserts a Subclause item to Clause 10 that will provide that the matters the
Inspector-General must consider in the conduct of a review include the welfare of animals in
relation to the export of live-stock.
