 1   A Bill for an Act to amend the Great Barrier Reef
 2   Marine Park Act 1975 to provide for an extension of
 3   the boundaries of the Great Barrier Reef Region
 4   The Parliament of Australia enacts:
 5   1 Short title
 6                This Act may be cited as the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park
 7                (Protecting the Great Barrier Reef from Oil Drilling and
 8                Exploration) Amendment Act 2005.

 9   2 Commencement
10                This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal
11                Assent.

2                  Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or
3                  repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule
4                  concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect
5                  according to its terms.

 5        Repeal paragraphs (a) to (j), substitute:
 6              (a) commences at the point that, at low water, is the
 7                   northernmost extremity of Cape York Peninsula Queensland;
 8              (b) runs thence easterly along the geodesic to the intersection of
 9                   parallel of Latitude 10º 41' South with meridian of Longitude
10                   145º19'33" East;
11              (c) runs thence south-easterly along the geodesic to the point of
12                   Latitude 12º20'00" South, Longitude 146º30'00";
13              (d) runs thence south-easterly along the geodesic to a point of
14                   Latitude 12º38'30" South, Longitude 147º08'30" East;
15              (e) runs thence south-easterly along the geodesic to a point of
16                   Latitude 13º10'30" South, Longitude 148º05'00" East;
17              (f) runs thence south-easterly along the geodesic to a point of
18                   Latitude 14º38'00" South, Longitude 152º07'00" East;
19              (g) runs thence south-easterly along the geodesic to a point of
20                   Latitude 14º45'00" South, Longitude 154º15'00" East;
21              (h) runs thence north-easterly along the geodesic to a point of

 5                    (r) runs thence south-westerly along the geodesic to a point of
 6                         Latitude 19º17'12" South, Longitude 156º15'20" East;
 7                    (s) runs thence south-easterly along the geodesic to a point of
 8                         Latitude 20º08'28" South, Longitude 156º49'34" East;
 9                     (t) runs thence south-easterly along the geodesic to a point of
10                         Latitude 20º32'28" South, Longitude 157º03'09" East;
11                    (u) runs thence south-easterly along the geodesic to a point of

28                         South to its intersection by the coastline of Queensland at
29                         low water; and
30                  (zd) runs thence generally northerly along that coastline at low
31                         water to the point of commencement.
