A Bill for

An Act to amend the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act 2010

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1 Name of Act

This Act is the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction (Membership) Amendment Act 2024

2 Commencement

This Act commences on the day after its notification day.

Note The naming and commencement provisions automatically commence on the notification day (see Legislation Act

, s 75 (1)).

3 Legislation amended

This Act amends the Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act 2010

4 Membership

Section 20 (1)

substitute

(1) The council consists of at least 5, but not more than 10, members appointed by the Minister.

5 Section 20 (2) (b)

substitute

(b) the council includes at least 2 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people; and
